Checkered Flag If you're one of the many wonderful folks who bought your copy of Cthulhu 500 at Gen Con Indy, then you probably got one of the free, plastic checkered flags we gave away with each purchase of the game. Here, then, is how you use that flag in the game. It's a powerful tool, but use it carefully... if you lose, the flag may one day be used against you! CHECKERED FLAG RULES: On your turn, you may "play" your checkered flag to gain one free, additional action. Each checkered flag may only be played once per game. At the end of the game, the winner collects any checkered flags played during the game, which she may use in future games or simply lord over other players. For the purposes of this rule, a flag may be "played" in any number of ways. We recommend waving it up over your head so everyone knows you're taking your extra action. For 3 to 8 players, ages 8 and up. Game play takes 30 to 60 minutes.
