AFC Champion Denver Broncos defeated NFC Champion Carolina Panthers 24–10 to win the 50th Super Bowl! Spearheaded by a soon to be retired Peyton Manning, the Broncos defence was the real story with 7 sacks! It was Denver's 3rd Super Bowl win. This Super Bowl suspended the traditional Roman Numerals used to depict the Super Bowl number. It was the Golden Anniversary and the NFL did a great job with promotion. It was the veteran Superstar against the NFL's newest Superstar!
